Terms of Service

Effective September 23, 2026 Dawley Logistics, Burlington, WI

These terms cover the use of dawleylogistics.com and the vehicle transport services provided by Dawley Logistics LLC and its sister company DS Brokerage LLC. Booking a shipment with us means you accept them.

Who we are and what we do

Dawley Logistics LLC is a motor carrier based in Burlington, Wisconsin, operating under USDOT 3739382 and MC 1323099. Most shipments move on our own open nine-car haulers. When a lane falls outside our fleet's coverage, or when a vehicle needs equipment we do not run, DS Brokerage LLC places the shipment with an outside carrier that we have screened for operating authority, equipment, insurance and compliance. We will tell you which of the two applies to your move.

Quotes and booking

A quote is based on the information you give us: the pickup and delivery locations, the vehicle, its running condition and any modifications. Quote it accurately and the number we give you is the number you pay. If the vehicle turns out to be different from what was described, for example it does not run, sits lower, is larger, or carries modifications that were not disclosed, the price and the equipment may have to change before the vehicle is loaded.

Nothing on this website is a price list or an offer. A shipment is booked when we have confirmed the details with you and arranged payment, and not before.

Your responsibilities

  • Give us accurate pickup and delivery addresses, working contact numbers, and honest vehicle details including condition and modifications.
  • Tell us before booking if the vehicle does not start, steer, brake or roll.
  • Have the vehicle available at the agreed location, with about a quarter tank of fuel, and make sure someone of legal age is there to release it and to receive it.
  • Provide a set of keys for the vehicle and for any locks, alarms or wheel locks.
  • Remove toll tags and parking passes, and secure or remove loose exterior parts such as spoilers, antennas and covers.

Personal items

Household or personal items left in a vehicle are not part of the shipment and are not covered by cargo insurance. Anything you leave in the vehicle travels at your own risk. Keep it to a reasonable amount of non-valuable items, well below one hundred pounds, stowed in the trunk or behind the front seats so it does not block the driver's view or the loading process. Do not leave anything hazardous, illegal or irreplaceable in the car.

Pickup and delivery windows

Vehicle transport runs on windows, not appointments. We give you a realistic pickup window and a realistic delivery window when we quote, based on the lane and the season, and we would rather give you an honest range than a date we would have to walk back. Traffic, weather, road closures, mechanical problems and hours-of-service rules all move a truck around. We do not guarantee a pickup time, a delivery time or a specific date, and we are not liable for costs you incur because a vehicle arrived earlier or later than expected, such as rental cars, flights or missed work.

Car haulers are long and heavy, and many streets, gates and communities will not take one. Where a driver cannot legally or safely reach your door, we will arrange to meet you nearby, usually at a large, well lit lot a short drive away.

Inspection and the bill of lading

At pickup the driver inspects the vehicle with you and records its condition on the bill of lading. At delivery you inspect it again before signing. The bill of lading is the document that settles what condition the vehicle was in when it was loaded and when it was delivered, so read it and note anything you see before you sign. Signing a clean bill of lading at delivery makes a later damage claim much harder to pursue.

Damage claims

If something is wrong at delivery, note it on the bill of lading, photograph it, and tell us before the driver leaves if you can. We will pause the process with the carrier, document the damage against the bill of lading, and mediate the claim on your behalf. You will hear from us with an action plan within twenty four hours, and sooner where we can.

Our own trucks carry cargo coverage, and every carrier placed through DS Brokerage is required to hold it. Claims are settled against that coverage, subject to the carrier's policy terms and to the condition recorded on the bill of lading. We do not publish coverage amounts on this website; ask us and we will tell you what applies to your shipment.

Cancellations

You are not committed until final pricing has been communicated and payment has been arranged. If you need to cancel, tell us as soon as you can. Where a carrier has not yet collected the vehicle, a refund is generally available. Once a vehicle has been picked up the shipment is under way and cancellation is no longer possible. We will always tell you plainly where your booking stands before anything is charged.

Vehicles we do not transport

We do not move recreational vehicles or campers. Motorcycles are considered case by case. We do not knowingly transport a vehicle containing anything illegal, and we may refuse or stop a shipment where a vehicle was not described accurately, where loading it would be unsafe, or where we believe the transport would break the law.

Limitation of liability

Our responsibility for a shipment is limited to the vehicle itself, handled under the applicable cargo coverage and the bill of lading. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including lost profits, loss of use, rental or replacement transport, travel costs or missed appointments. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

The content on this website is provided for general information. We keep it accurate and current, but we do not warrant that every page is free of error or that the site will always be available.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute that is not resolved between us will be brought in the state or federal courts serving Racine County, Wisconsin, and both sides agree to that venue. Interstate motor carriage is also subject to federal law, which applies where it conflicts with the above.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version posted here on the day you book is the version that applies to your shipment, and the effective date at the top of the page tells you when it last changed.
